Sunrise Smoothie Bowl- Start your day the healthiest way!
Cooking three meals every day is a very big deal. Especially breakfast. Getting yourself motivated to work from home or preparing the kids for online classes are also daunting tasks to get by. Add cooking woes to the top of it and you get a major headache. This is where smoothie bowls come to the rescue. A smoothie bowl is not only super easy to make but is also very delicious and healthy!
The best part is that there is no cooking whatsoever- yep, you read that right! There are various recipes of smoothie bowl recipes but here I am sharing my favorite one.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup rolled oats
1/3 cup Greek yogurt (I mostly use Elderberry & Blueberry, but the choice is yours, can also use vegan yogurt to make the recipe vegan)
2/3 cup Almond or Coconut Milk (Mostly I use Almond)
1 tbsp Chia Seeds
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp cinnamon powder
1 tsp blue spirulina powder
1 tsp honey (You may use sugar but honey is a healthier alternative)
A handful of berries or more, as per taste
One banana
1 tbsp muesli (optional)
1 tbsp coconut shavings (optional)
Method:
1 Whisk together all the ingredients mentioned above except for fruits, muesli and coconut shavings in a medium sized mixing bowl. Spoon into a jar with a tight fitting lid and refrigerate overnight or for at least 6 hours
2 Next morning, pull out the bowl and keep aside, I usually keep my bowl at room temperature for about 45 minutes before eating. This is completely optional though.
3 Cut the fruits and decorate your bowl however you like! Add coconut and muesli on top of your bowl too if you like. You should feel free to add as many ingredients as you like to make your bowl healthier and tastier!
Tip:
If you desire to soak your oats for lesser duration, use quick cooking oats. They soak much faster!
