How to boil the Perfect Pasta- Because you are likely doing it wrong!

How to boil the perfect pasta?

How To Cook Pasta Faster in One Simple Step | Eat This, Not That!

Ever wondered how they boil the pasta just right at the restaurants? Or why your pasta is sometimes overcooked or under-cooked? I've got you covered. I'm sharing my secret to boiling the perfect pasta with you! Hopefully, now your pasta will taste just perfect.

Additionally, you may view my pink sauce pasta recipe here:

1. Always cook pasta in a big bowl, this prevents the pasta from sticking to each other

2. For every 1 cup of pasta, boil 5 cups of water (the ratio is always 1:5). This gives room to the pasta to get cooked

3. Add 1-2 tsp of oil to the bowl, this ensures that the pasta remains separated

4. Adding salt to the pasta while boiling it ensures that it doesn't taste bland when cooked. Make sure you add a lot of salt and not just a teaspoon, this enhances pasta's flavor

5. Bring the water to a vigorous boil before throwing in the pasta

6. Add the pasta to, I repeat, boiling water, and stir occasionally. This prevents the pasta from sticking to bottom of your pan

7. Refer to the packaging of your pasta and check the cooking time

8. Now, 2 minutes before the mentioned cooking time, fish out a single pasta and check if it's cooked. Always eat your pasta to check. How does it feel on your teeth? How does the center of the pasta feel? Is there a crunch? If yes, then keep cooking! Does it have a springy bounce? Yes? Then you are done

9. However, if you like your pasta a bit soggy, then keep cooking and you'll get there in a couple of minutes!

10. Never rinse the pasta after cooking, this takes away the flavor!

Notes:
1. Cooking times can vary as per the variety of the pasta being cooked. Always refer to the cooking time on the pasta packet
2. Stuffed pasta like ravioli will rise to the surface of the water and float when it's cooked
